This colorful Dresden Plate Quilt is suitable for Full or Queen beds, depending on how far down you would like it to hang over the side of the bed.  The quilt measures 81" x 100". I based the measurements of the quilt on a standard 60" x 80" Queen sized bed so that the borders would hang along the sides of the mattress.

Each flower on this quilt is a 16 petal flower. (Many Dresden Plate flowers have only 10 petals.) This offers a tremendous number of colors in this bedroom "bouquet".  There are pinks, yellows, oranges, blues and greens in each large bloom.  Every petal is cut out individually, then assembled into flowers. From there, the petal edges are paper-basted by hand for stability then hand appliqued to the main body of the quilt. After that, the paper is removed, and the flower centers sewn on in the same manner. The borders are composed of stripes of alternating colors and solid white stripes. In the corner of each border is another flower.

The quilt is made of 100% cotton top and backing. The batting is Warm & Natural cotton batting. (I love the feel of Warm and Natural. It is so soft yet toasty.) All quilting is done by hand. Each petal of each flower is quilted by hand, as are the centers. Between the flowers, beautiful designs of hearts and swirls are quilted. Each white stripe in the borders is also quilted with an egg and dart design. The binding is applied by machine on the front and sewn by hand on the back.  This quilt has not been pre-washed. When you do wash it, it will develop that lovely crinkled look that quilts get.

Pillow Shams are actually small quilts, themselves. They are made in the same way as the large quit, and feature two large flowers per sham. A very generous patchwork ruffle has been added around the edges which ties the ensemble nicely together. Each one is sized to fit a standard sized pillow, and their finished measurements are 33" x 26.5".
